Oh thanks Elpizo
haha you have a point there rubah. i would say 3rd best. Black Mages, Piano collections, then FLWV
Okay. I didn't know Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec was a group. I just thought it was a compilation album carrying some of the songs from Final Fantasy VIII. I always felt I didn't need it, seeing as how I had the whole soundtrack anyway.
But yeah. It sounds Latin, and that's the point. Because the rest of the lyics in those songs are Latin. It's an anogram like stated above.
Piano Collections. That would be much better if they knew what songs sound good on piano. Eternal Harvest was good. Kefka's theme was horrible. You just can't play Kefka's theme on a piano. It doesn't work. These are things they need to work out before releasing albums. And this is why I don't own any Piano Collections albums.
Can someone tell me what kind of remakes that Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec does? I'd like to know what to expect before downloading a couple songs on dialup to see if I like them and then buying the album if I do.
The Ceej: I don't know, I quite liked Kefka's theme done on the piano. It didn't sound right, but I quite liked how the piano collection version sounded different. Coin Song is the best FFVI song done on the piano though.
I'm also curious about FLWV, as I've never listened to it.

This is the tracklisting for Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec. It's simply orchestrated versions of selected songs from the FFVIII soundtrack (though Eyes on Me, Liberi Fatali and the Ending Theme are essentially unchanged as they were already orchestrated on the original soundtrack). I don't think it's a group, people seem to be confusing this with the Black Mages.
Track listing
1. "Liberi Fatali" – 3:08
2. "Blue Fields" – 3:38
3. "Don't be Afraid" – 3:49
4. "Balamb Garden - Ami" – 5:16
5. "Fisherman's Horizon" – 4:01
6. "Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec" – 4:38
7. "Eyes On Me" – 5:43
8. "The Man with the Machine Gun" – 3:36
9. "Dance with the Balamb-fish" – 3:16
10. "Love Grows" – 4:35
11. "The Oath" – 5:09
12. "Ending Theme" – 13:22
13. "Fragments of Memories" – 4:05
"Excuse me Miss, do you like pineapple?"
I never said that FLWV were a group it IS just a compilation album which i found quite good. I don't see what you dont like about piano collections. they make things like the X-2 sountrack become beautiful and bearable, and increase the amazingness of songs like Eyes On Me and Melodies Of Life
Yeah but the point The Ceej was trying to make (I don't know how right or not they are as I don't own any Piano Collections) is that in their opinion some songs on the Piano Collections sound good but others are chosen with less care and sound poor.
"Excuse me Miss, do you like pineapple?"
Something like that. The point I was trying to make was that some songs just don't sound right on the piano. That they should choose songs that sound beautiful on the piano. Every soundtrack has plenty of these songs. I think they just choose the best songs and not the songs that would sound best on the piano. I've heard less than ten songs from Piano Collections albums, but from what I've heard, it's pretty hit and miss.
I would've said it was more hit than miss. Some songs that I didn't think would translate particularly well over to the piano, like Final Battle (FFIX) was actually fairly decent. I really enjoyed the FFVII-IX piano collections and can only think of one or two that weren't done that well.

I was told that "Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec" was meant to be Latin for "Thy future untold" or something along those lines.
I'm pretty skeptical of that as they're not very Latin words at all. Not that I'm an expert in Latin or anything (the closest I come to that is being semi-fluent in French), but I'm pretty sure "sec" isn't a typical way for a Latin word to end. As for "wecos", with the way the choir pronounces it the spelling should be "wicos".
Just an anagram made to sound Latin. This must be some kinda revenge against all those white boys who try to say things that sound Japanese.

Its sure as hell not Latin.
Its just an anagram of 'Succession of Witches'.
"They said this day would never come. They said our sights were set too high. They said this country was too divided, too disillusioned to ever come around a common purpose. But on this January night, at this defining moment in history, you have done what the cynics said we couldn't do." - Barack Obama.

It is not latin which you can see from the start, because it has a "W" in it...
But a latin teacher in my school said that it's ancient greek. Although, she couldn't translate it without the whole context...
