Yoko Shimomura composed for the Kingdom Hearts games and is composing for Final Fantasy Versus XIII. She's also famous for composing for Street Fighter 2 and Super Mario RPG.

One of her earlier soundtracks was for a hack and slash sidescrolling action game called The King Of Dragons for Arcade and Snes in 1991. The soundtrack is great and one song specifically is incredible! The song called Stage 2-9(which is used for both Stage 2 and Stage 9) is incredible!!! I want to know who else loves it!

I recommend a Winamp Plugin, probably SNESAmp is best right I think

Yeah I remember that song, from that game, which was pretty fun by the way.

Its good, I like the final boss music a little better. I don't thing any songs in that game qualify as 16-bit rockin though!

Thanks for the reply! I played that game but lost a few levels into it. Try checking out the soundtrack to Alcahest the Snes action rpg on zophar.net or getting the Ys III soundtracks(Turbo CD version only!) from Edgeemu.com or the Front Mission 1st(PS 1 tactical rpg) soundtrack from zophar.net, you might like those ones.
