My parents are loathe to get me an iPod for Christmas, as they don't know what the smurf one is! They're all up for buying me an XBox 360 though.

1) I-tunes + charges for downloading = wtf you want to RESTRICT my choice of music software then try to sell me songs at £1 a song? NO U!

I have an iPod and I refuse to install iTunes. You don't need iTunes to have an iPod. If you know anything about computers, you realize that there are better ways of putting music on the iPod.

To be fair though, most people don't and are forced to use iTunes. Regardless of ways around it, it's still a really irritating program that most people have to use. Or at least I found it to be quite irritating.

I believe everyone who matters uses Winamp anyway. Winamp not only comes with an adequate plugin for using iPod, but also has a third party plugin which is 1.5 million times better than iTunes called ml_ipod. If you didn't know this, then you don't use Winamp, and the last part is self-explanitory.

That being said, anyone who uses iTunes, in spite of this information, fails at life. And judging by the fact that no one here seems to like iTunes, I believe it's more or less safe for me to say this.
