Do you know of any Japanese names for the FF characters?
I kinda like spelling Japanese names of video game characters, so... well...
I've found out about some of the FF chars from Japanese emulators (and some Youtube videos), but I can't be assed to play through them until the other chars appear.
This is what I've got so far:
Garland = Ga-rando
Cecil = Seshiru
Kain = Kain
Rosa = Ro-za
Rydia = Rideija
Edge = Etsuji
Zeromus = Zeromusu
Sephiroth = Sefuirosu
Tidus = Tee-da
Yuna = Yuuna
Wakka = Waaka
Sin = Shin
Do you know of anything else?

I know that translating the word 'squall' and entering it into a google.jp search is a good way to find awesome fanart.

The fan translation had it down as "Golbeze". That's hardly conclusive, but I'm wondering if it could have read "gorubizu" (Golbeez) or "gorubeezu/gorubeizu" (Golbayz) in Japanese instead...I would say it's probably "Gorubezu" or "Gorubezo".Golbez - Gorubeza

It's Gorubeeza. Golbeza.
Note that "bee" in Japanese notation sounds more like the English word bay than bee. Likewise, "roo" is more like "row your boat" than "rue the day." And so on.

Whoa, wonder what made them drop the "a"?
Oh yeah, as for Zidane's name, I forget what the Japanese was, but I'm pretty sure it was more or less the same as would be required to pronounce his name the same way as the French soccer player, hence the identical spelling. I doubt Square intended for that to become the correct English spelling though and would be unsurprised if someday they suddenly decided it was something else like they did with Aeris/Aerith.
