Cah-rah-mel
Car-mel
So some people do actually call it 'Carmel'. And here I thought I had a hearing problem. Anyhow, I say it the regular way, 'Caramel'. 'Carmel' sounds like 'Camel'![]()
I say it "Carmel", but I don't deny it being wrong.
Personally, I will not side with anyone that pronounces it "Noo Yoik".

Ah, carmel. The rumored flavor of nucular aluminum.
Caramel, please. I can't believe you say it 'carmel'. That's a new low. What next? Untied Stats of Amrica?

My dictionary says they're both right. But then, my dictionary is by Webster. The one that purposely defines words such as geek, nerd, gay, etc. with offensive definitions just to piss us off. So, I don't believe anything Webster has to say. They're probably just saying they're both right to offend logical people who pronounce all the letters.
Afterall, I can't look up a word in Webster's Dictionary without being offended. I shall never buy another Webster's Dictionary again.
Which is why we have so much time to kick ass.
WITH GUNS AND STUFF.

I probably pronounce it that way too, but I'm trying to prove a point.
