You started an argument over, what, a sarcastic comment by smittenkitten that we don't care about our forum, and now you're crying censorship because we aren't adhering to the original vision of our forum? For those who missed it, this thread originally held posts by me, NeoCracker and smittenkitten that critiqued the staff, then Bunny asked to join the Revolution. It's all been censored now.
I seem to remember last time I did something like this, I said watch this be censored in my Rebellion thread. I think it was you, Miriel, who said "are you being censored? no." Then the thread was closed for no real reason when staff were complained about, and so IT WAS censored.
Now this has been censored.
Listen Eoffians! Any attempt to critique the Eoff administration, even fully within rules, WILL be censored. This is yet more proof of that fact.
If we work together, we can stop the unjust cencorship. Since this thread literally has no topic, and our discussion was as close as we could come to being on-topic, I don't see what was wrong with it.

I had a feeling that might be sarcastic, but I was hoping that someone actually affiliated with the staff might at some level agree that this has gone too far. Besides, I thought that if she was being sarcastic, it would be amusing to pretend she wasn't.No it doesn't.
I didn't start "an argument." I don't know why you would call it that. At no point did I debate people's views. I agreed with them.
My original statement was that you guys really don't care anymore. I find flaming has increased, spam has increased, and you guys just don't have the will to deal with it anymore. And I can understand that - I can really understand it, and sympathize. When you've asked people not to do something for so long and they persist at it forever, no matter what, yeah, it gets REALLY tiring. But if you're at that point, why not bring in some more new people who are going to be more active? You have done that quite a bit, and those staff generally are more active in keeping the rules.
Every once in a while I find flaming increases, and usually the staff will compensate and bring things back to normal. But now - it seems you're actually becoming a lot more lenient, and I find staff members flaming on a regular basis just because they can. I won't name names.
Sure, if you've worked hard to keep rules for so long, you feel the freedom to bend them a bit. Fine. I understand that. But this is ridiculous. It's a parody of what the staff have constantly attempted to root out, flaming in particular. Flaming newbies tended to get banned in mere weeks.
Now, you're not even trying to be hypocrites like before, allowing yourselves to break rules while you enforced them strictly. Now, it seems anyone can break rules, because let's face it, a lot of people look up to you guys. I was one of those people, until I returned to this state of affairs. Like I said, I can understand loosening up rules over time, but this is getting extreme.
You join the staff and work all day on a site that does not pay you.

Well now several regular users seem to dislike me for taking a stand against the staff, after years of everyone complaining about them.
I guess most people enjoy complaining but not committing, and when their rep is on the line, they'll abandon what they believe in.
Well, it just goes to show how fickle forum popularity is. In some ways I'm glad I took this stand. I spoke out when I saw something that I thought was unjust, and even though the consequences may have been difficult to deal with, I can say that I made that tough decision. I can't back down now. My destiny on these forums is now set. I will have to stick by what I believe in, even if it may not be popular with some. I found that the people cried out about this issue time and time again. I ignored it, I supported the staff, I did my share of sucking up to avoid being banned.
Well that time is passed. If people are going to go back on what they wanted, fine. It's their choice not to try to actively make this more of a democracy, to ensure it's always the great place it'll always been, to ensure it's not just in the hands of a select few. It's their loss if they choose that.
I truly respect those that are ready to stand by me and stay true to their complaints, and do something about it.
