This would be typing leisurely. Were I to type something up for my work, I would be more accurate and have increased speed by about 10 wpm.

I'm a fast typer. ^^ But ack, I made so many mistakes that time. Oh well. That typing test was hard, on a different site I took it told me my WPM was 130.

Not being able to backspace after pressing spacebar is quite the detriment. :O
No use in trying. I type in an unorthodox manner.
If I have to look at the screen to see what to type, it's somewhere in the 30-40 WPM range. (EDIT: Actually 68 WPM if I have to look at the screen)
If I just type from my head while looking at the keys it's far faster, although I'm not sure how quick it actually is.

You and me both, buddy. I've been using computers for seventeen years and I still can't get used to looking at the screen while typing. I like to see the keys. My Thinkpad has a nice little LED at the top of the chassis which illuminates the keyboard when it's dark and my external keyboard is backlit.
I work that way as well.

"... and so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written."
not bad necro.
I agree with some of the above. I can type faster if I am just thinking what I am typing and not copying from a paper or the screen. I don't need to see the keyboard though. I've become a bit of a touch typist I guess.
I'd say i'm 40wpm when tired, 60wpm usually, 80 max when going by screen, and might break 100 if I let grammar go by the wayside and type from my brain.
