    Eh? FAST is never useless!

It would have to be a Monk. I know they're strong but they have the least variety out of all of the classes.

When you reach Kraken with a Knight, Monk, anything but thief party there's no reason not to kill it in three turns with unfast characters. If one character is a Black Wizard it's even faster. Tiamat isn't much harder, especially if you use the Bane sword. Where exactly do you need fast again? Nowhere!

Now that you mention it, beating the game with one Fighter wasn't hard, just required patience. He didn't have FAST either. Shucks, you win

PROTIP: The Bane Sword works on everything, even Chaos. Did you ever see the speedrun?

Not in the first FF. SE didn't add any specific job abilities till FF III

    Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

Hmmm... That's a good idea. I wonder why no one's brought that up before.

your point about the thief stealing is horrid. There were no special abilities in this game, just fight, use items, or magic. None of those other special abilities. Thief could move fast, and escape from battle. Notably, this became a skill in later FFs. So technically he had the only skill they could actually give him.
