Default Complete the Bestiary: Getting the Garif

I'm trying to complete the Bestiary, and I think I am one Garif short of a full complement. However, I can't seem to find any more. Does anybody have any tips on where/how they spawn?

Okay, you know the eastern exit in Ozmone Plains to the Golmore Jungle? If you go west and south from there, you'll enter a place with a twisting serpentine path. There's a fixed chance that a Garif Hunter will be wandering around in there. If you cast any spell on him (even healing) he'll turn hostile and attack you.

BTW, you don't have to get the full quota of monsters to get the icon in the sky Pirate's Den. Just one of each. You do, however, get extra information.

D'oh! I always leave alone hunters. Is there any advantage in that?

The only thing you save by leaving them alone is a guilty conscience.

The game creates a strange incentive to kill them because you get extra information in the Bestiary data. As far as I know, it has no effect whatsoever on how the Garif tribe views your party.

I always thought it was weird that the game rewards you for killing innocent people. xP
