To the kids face? The kid has a clef lip and palet that happens when the mouth doesn't fuse all the way when your born. If you get it fixed when your around that kids age your left with no scar eventually or at least one so small it doesn't matter. Here's a pic of Joaquin Phoenix who had one when he was born.
