There are special rules for Mercenaries, I'll PM him more in-detail about it as I mess with the rules section.

Posted the Mercenary/Barbarian rules in the general rules thread. Also, minor adjustment to NPC generals, you can how hire generals 2 ranks below your own rank (minimum 1). This means nothing to any non-merc/barbarian, but as you increase in rank you can hire stronger generals.
