Capcom didn't make the EX series, which is what you're talking about, so they've technically never done a 3D SF before (there was Capcom Fighting All-Stars but that didn't get released due to bad feedback).

As for "2D gameplay in 3D," Capcom's pretty good at it, IMO. The Rival Schools series speaks for itself.

Frankly, I don't see the complaints about the graphics, either. Outside of maybe two screenshots, it's one of the best-looking fighting games I've seen in a while, and it's not even 5% done yet!
Yeah, you're probably right. I have never played "Rival Schools", but I do know that it was a good game. Still, I can't help but feeling a bit ambivalent about this.. I mean, I guess it's time for them to make a Street Fighter game in 3D, but then on the other hand Street Fighter and 2D graphics just go together. As long as it won't have side-stepping I guess it'll be allright, though?
