Fate of This Forum

you have to admit, this is probably the most awkward forum on the list. it covers all videogame music, the spirits within movie (but not advent children or CC (or was it BC? whatever), and the mystic quest game (unofficially ). Various ideas for renovation turn around the idea of making it a square-soft media forum, the animated movies and music. Do you guys think you could handle having ff7 fanboys lumped in with you? Would it be preferable to allow other video game music discussion in here or to dump that in general gaming or the lounge? Should mystic quest get its own forum (finally)?

I just want to get a feel for what you all think about this topic. There's a chance that our lazy admin will just leave it exactly how it is now. xD

There's no real need for this forum. TSW was a flop, and is no longer discussed, mostly because of the availability of the movie outweighs the demand. VG Music is more appropriately apt in the Lounge, General Gaming, or the respective FF forum.

I highly doubt that people are really looking for commercials, and most information about sheet music can easily be found here or elsewhere. Last Order (the FFVII anime) also falls under the FFVII Compilation; however, Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus should be subforums in FFVII, not their own separate main-page forums, just as Signature requests don't have their own on the front, but you have to click on further.

Mystic Quest can go into General FF or General SE, and as much as everyone else likes it, it really is not necessary to have its own. Everything that VG/TSW does, GG and the Lounge can do better. Same goes for CT/CC, and as much as I love those games, 4/5 threads there is about someone trying to bump a post, or revive the forum. It's like thread necromancy: it should just be let go. Let the place die in peace.

Maybe a sub-forum in The Lounge specifically for music found in games, anime, movies, or other TV shows?

And then lump TSW with Advent Children?

I think taking away the video game music forum would be a crime, i think its fine the way it is.

Well, I like video game music and I think that this forum should be expanded to include Final Fantasy on other mediums, too.

I actually quite like the idea of merging it all into Square Media. And then other game music can just go in General Gaming. As it is, this place just doesn't see much traffic ;.; As for something like Advent Children, though... I dunno, I think the FFVII compilation should really just be sub- forums within VII like Tavrobel said.

I'm for dropping this forum. None of the topics involved get enough threads to warrent it.

VG music in either lounge or Video Game forums, TSW and MQ in General FF, and be done with it.

I'm just concerned that if VGM threads are made in the lounge then maybe after a couple of years [strike]are[/strike] or so people will be like


"Oh wow a video game music thread, I've never seen this before [/sarcasm]"

and make us VGM thread makers cry

Video game music can be discussed in The Lounge.
The Square movies can be discussed in a forum for all Square non-game, Advent Children included (or The Lounge as nobody here discusses them anyway).
Mystic Quest can be discussed in General Final Fantasy.
Perhaps The Lounge should have the music aspect removed and a Music Forum be created.

When I first joined this board, I thought it was one of the most random things I had seen in my life to have a section devoted to both Video Game Music and The Spirits Within movie. The new name / concept seems decent.

I think allowing a forum for all FF Media which does not have it's own forum, along with all other video game music, is great.
