Thread: The Anti-Life Equation

  1. #1

    Default The Anti-Life Equation

    loneliness + alienation + fear + despair +
    self-worth ÷ mockery ÷ condemnation ÷
    misunderstanding x guilt x shame x failure x judgment
    n=y where y=hope and n=folly, love=lies, life=death, self=dark side

I assume it would be spoken as replacing + with "plus",
÷ with divided by, x with multiplied by, and, of course, = with equals.

Oh, in this lonely, divided world full of guilty, failing sentients, wouldn't it be wonderful to destroy the freedom of our wills which leads us to seek out our own ends and desires regardless of who must be tread upon to reach these goals?

Spoken like a true tyrannical dictator whose own life-story is full of torture and heartbreak and the endless spew of misgivings from a singular perspective which leads one to believe that no life is worth saving moreso than it is worth destroying. Because sentients bear with them a will which allows them to act upon each other violence, invasion, and deceit, one might conclude that life itself possesses no worth. The deadliest and most logical of all tyrants would be one who seeks the end rather than the new beginning.
    Jack: How do you know?

Will: It's more of a feeling really.

Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?

    Will: No.

If Demolition Man were remade today

Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
    Huxley: NO!
    Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
    Spartan: But Huxley.
    Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.

By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.

It is interesting how life has no apparent meaning other than what we ourselves give it. Plus the only certain thing we know in this life is that we all, ultimately die.

So how is it that someone seeking to destroy life is more logical than the one seeking to propogate/preserve it?

I suppose some are of the ilk that we should accelerate the destruction in order to prevent the slow/painful death.

I suppose in a sense it is pre-emptive euthanasia, or possibly suicide.

Afterall how can there be pain without life?

Anyway this has just been my thoughts...though I would be prefer to be a preservationist rather than a destructionist, I understand how people come to the conclusion that destruction is the best route.

I would prefer just to divide by zero. Now, THAT is anti-life.
