I watched this movie for the first time last night...It...Was...Awesome! All of the characters are screwed up, which I hardly ever see anymore. What's your opinion of my new 2nd favorite movie?

It's a brilliant film. Nothing less. Kevin Spacey is phenomenal, and so is Annette Benning. The film really deserved all the oscars it got.

Sam Mendes (the director) is really talented. "Road to Perdition" was also a great movie.

I still think it's an excellent movie, the acting is first-class throughout and it was well worth its Best Picture Oscar (and how often can you say that?). Even if they did swipe the 'dead narrator' business from Sunset Boulevard XD

I love this movie so much

I saw it with some other people, and they all went into "Oh my god, sooo overrated! Sooo pretentious and full of itself!" and blah blah, but I thought it deserved all its attention and rewards <3. Benning is the like the queen of mental breakdowns.

Indeed it is a masterpiece. My ex tried to watch it and got bored. Needless to say, that's part of he reason he is my ex. He liked Surf's Up, for God's sake!

But yeah, American Beauty is fantastic, and I love the ending...

It's one of my favorite movies, and I still can't believe that I don't own it. I love how at the end I was like "Oh snap! I totally forgot he's dead! :O" How beautifully tragic.
