1) From the game only, was Sephiroth controlling Jenova, or was it the opposite?

I wish that people would actually take notice of what the question says. I said it that way, precisly so that we wouldn't have clone answers of 'it's in the Ultimania Omega guides'.

The point of the questions is to help spark some discussion.

But those guides are practically part of the game.
