Obviously, I don't believe that to be true about all of them. But I have noticed that a good chunk of them are the ones who have a problem with VII having the impact it did in the first place.

They're doing that with FFXIII, Dragon Quest IX

They're doing that with last remnant.

FFIVDS, Dragon Quest IV, V, VI.

I guess I just want to say that it's not just "they're a company and have to make money" so they proceed with flooding the market with unnecessary titles and forcing them down our throats. There is a genuine and large demand for these games. With the VII compilation, people wanted to know what was the deal with Zack, the turks, Vincent, what happens after the game, and they got it (i feel the ending of Crisis Core added alot to the plot of the main game). I'm playing Revenant Wings right now and I'm real glad they made that game. So as long as the fans want something like this, I'm glad to see Square-Enix meet that demand.

Yes, it's all good with games like FFVII and FFXII that left A LOT of unanswered questions. After FFIV's ending, I really don't see what else is left to say about that story. And a lot of the questions that were left unanswered will be covered by the material they couldn't add in the original that they'll include in the remake, from what I can see. So, in that case, it's milking the cow for the sake of milking it.

I chat with a few people in Japan, and from what they told me, the majority of FFIV fans over there are outraged about that particular sequel. And if they don't stop there, what's next? A sequel of FFVI where magic reappears for no reason 2 years after Kefka was destroyed? Another FFVII sequel, in which we discover the entire storyline of FFVII and it's other spins-off was al in Cloud's head? A Final Fantasy X-3 in which Sin is revived? Hellooooooo cliché, contrived, bs plotlines. It's the Matrix all over again.

The source material that writers and developers create for a game extends beyond what we see in the finished product, so Square Enix probably thinks that it would be a profitable venture to simply revisit older products from time to time and see what can be built with the least production time.
I believe in the power of humanity.
