what do you call this font, it seems popular on graphics..

There are a number of small "pixel fonts" (fonts made to fit small sizes), one of them that's free is Silkscreen is a small free font for your Web graphics. (kottke.org)

or you could draw the text in yourself

When the text is going to be that tiny, it's not hard to draw it in yourself accurately. Still, it's faster to use a font. rubah linked to Silkscreen, which is what I like to use.
