FFX Movie on DVD: Subtitles On Crack

Whoah. Just...whoah.

I've seen an FFX DVD floating around where (I thought) Square re-rendered the game and recorded the gameplay minus the combats. The IMDB entry suggested it had Japanese with English subtitles, or English dub.

Partly to be able to make screencaptures easily for my LJ icons, and partly to get the original Japanese voices, I picked up a copy on eBay.

Except.

Either this is a bootleg, badly fansubbed version, or Square hired REALLY bad translators, because the subtitles are not the ones in the game.

At first I was irked at a shoddy product. But now?

That's utterly fantastic. Engrish usually has me either cringing or laughing in bucketloads, but I can easily vouch for the fact I was definitely doing the latter this time.
