A lot of those don't even make any sense.

I'm convinced that a lot of those books were challenged by school students who didn't want to read them.

Most of these were assigned, which means I probably didn't read it very closely.

    1984 (Assigned)
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Assigned)
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Assigned)
    Brave New World (Assigned)
    A Clockwork Orange
The Face on the Milk Carton (and the sequel)
    Goosebumps (#1 - #48)
The Great Gatsby (Assigned and boring)
James and the Giant Peach (Assigned)
    The OUtsiders (Assigned but awesome)
    Scary Stories
That was Then, This is Now
To Kill a Mockingbird (Assigned but enjoyed)
    Where's Waldo? (Obviously)

I almost want to read them all now, just because they were contested in the US, because I like most of everything that the US contests, and vice versa.

I started most of the Steven King ones, and though I wasn't offended, I didn't really like some of them (Cujo, Christine, the Dead Zone). I made it through the Dead Zone because I really liked the concept and the TV show, but the book was extremely boring to survive - I just hoped it would get better.

I already planned to read a lot of the ones on the list irrelevant of whether or not they were assigned as required reading. Some I started, only to leave for later.

I'm not surprised that a lot of the books' pages on Wikipedia listed the following reasons for raising contrevery...

-Preposterous accusations by the Catholic Church
    -Suggesting children contesting authority
-The presence of sex or obscenity

All of those reasons are, in my opinion, irrelevant and not worth protesting, and in my opinion, children should contest authority, it's what's motivated the best changes in our histories that society takes for granted! The next generation is meant to think for itself and be more open-minded, but authority hopes to quell and squash that to make us all more like our parents.

What's really ironic is, despite having American organizations preaching how terrible they are, most of these books are required reading!
