Do the job levels serve any particular purpose? And, can you keep gaining them once you master a job?
Do the job levels serve any particular purpose? And, can you keep gaining them once you master a job?
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.
As your job levels increase, you unlock new jobs.
For example a level 2 squire unlocks knight and archer, while a level 2 chemist unlocks priest and wizard.
The max job level is 8 for an job.
There's a glitch that you can use to buy skills without getting JP but the downside is your Job levels do not increase, so theoretically you may not unlock other Jobs.
You can keep on gaining JP even after Level 8 as long as you don't buy every skill.
Most of the time, you will not be able to master a job before you achieve the maximum level in that job because of the amount of job points needed to master all skills.
I believe in the power of humanity.
What is the maximum job level?
And I knew about the unlocking new job thing, was wondering if they had any other purpose. Sorry I wasn't clear.

Oh, that's why my Squire job earns much more JP than my newly acquired Monk job for the same actions. Thanks, Mullet, that was also an annoying thing I was trying to figure out.
So, if I want to actually max everything, I should leave at least one ability unlearned on jobs like Squire until they reach level 8?

If you want to max everything, then what is required is for you to master every skill and ability unlockable in the job. You can reach level 8 for a job, but still wouldn't of mastered it if a skill hasn't been learned.
EOFF needs a resurgence to it's former glory.
Yeah, but gaining every ability is an obvious completionist thing. Gaining unnecessary job levels that might be missed if you max a job too soon (since some, like Squire, can be maxed at level 6) is something I might have overlooked, which is why I asked you guys about it.
