Default Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie to be released in two halves.

Ok, I first read this on mugglenet. Here is the article. Read it and do you think it would be better this way? I do since we will be given more time for the small detail in the book that will make it o so much better.

    Stark: We have a HULK!

Cba to read the article, but I was really expecting them to release at least one of them in two halves since before GoF was released. I hope they don't think I'll be paying for two cinema tickets.

Id rather they scrapped the whole project.

But on this January night, at this defining moment in history, you have done what the cynics said we couldn't do." - Barack Obama.

I could care less. I have never paid to see a Harry Potter movie, but I do plan to do so for the last one ... so two tickets is the least I can bother.

    That battle is hardly huge.

    (SPOILER)Avada Kedavra! Expelliarmus! End.

Hmm I'm not sure if I'll still go see this or not after 6 straight dissapointments in a row especially with the 5th one.
"It is simply impossible to incorporate every storyline into a film under four hours long."
I don't get what Rowling is talking about here. Order of the Phoenix didn't have to be 4hrs long to get most of the storyline in the film. 2 and 1/2 hours or 3 would have been enough

I really don't have to say much for the splitting of the films because I don't think I'll see it anyway.

I think it's a good idea and they should have done it 5. The longest book being the shortest movie didn't work so well for me. Anyway, you're still getting two full length movies, so I don't see the problem paying for it twice. That's kinda like saying you won't pay for The Two Towers or Return of the King because you already paid once and you should get the whole story at once. More Harry Potter for me is only a good thing

I wouldn't mind seeing two separate movies, but I'm kind of wary about how they'd "end" the first half. From what I remember, (SPOILER)the action seemed pretty constant.

[spoilers]Somewhere around when ron leaves them would be the perfect 'omg' stopping point. [/spoilers]

I think this is more of a moneyspinner for Warner Bros. In the first half, nothing interesting will happen.

    Aww noo...

I'm with Vivisteiner on this one.

As I was reading it, I thought, surely they can cut out a lot of this and manage to squeeze it into four hours. I hope they give it a go.

I hate movies in two halves. I guess Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions ruined it for me. Though I think Kill Bill was perfectly acceptable.

EDIT: Half Blood Prince, November... I think.

I initially heard rumours that Goblet of Fire was going to be split in two halves which I thought was a good idea in order to maximise the amount of stuff put into the films. Obviously it's a way to upping the profits for the film company because people will see the film regardless of how good it is.

Sounds like a good idea if they're both long halves, like rubah said, but ultimately I'd say it's driven by money.
Not my words Carol, the words of Top Gear magazine.
