I found the story of this game started picking up really good around thge end of the game, when she turns into the esper. its like the game is almost over...why get really indepth now?

Well because it's the ending it has to be mememorable and spectacular, but i think there were alot of indepth parts in the rest of the story, particularly when you go about collecting everyone.

Well one would automatically assume we're talking about after defending Narshe from the Empire. I'm thinking the OP made a mistake, though, and is referring to when she turns into an Esper at the end of the game. (I guess.)

o o; Yeah you're like in the middle, but no where near the end. But that parts when the storylines are becoming stronger and more explained, they get more MORE explained towards the end which is later in the game.

I don't even think that's half way. I'm pretty sure I reached that point within the first 5 hours or so, while I completed the game in about 25.

Then again im sure that Avarice-ness would be thrilled to know that you would mistake Zozo for something as awesome as a final dungeon

Now that that is cleared up im sure that the cg effects and movies in 5 and 6 in anthology especially in six in the begining will be good. thats what im looking forward to

Don't get to excited. You only get the opening one and then you unlock another when you beat the game. (They're fantastic, though.)

There is one at the end as well. The one that you unlock is just as combination of the opening and ending one.
