It's called matrixing. It's when your mind finds familiar shapes from garbage essentially. Besides Mars as it is couldn't support life like that. Bacteria? Sure. Small critters the size of bugs. Maybe. A frickin' jawa shaped human? No way in hell. Mars just can't support life at that magnitude.
