I remember these westerns I read in middle school by J.T. Edson that I loved, but the later books in the series (there were tons of them) started having exclamation points after nearly every sentence. smurfing garbage, I stopped reading them after that.
One exclamation point is perfectly fine!
But I can't take people who use more than one seriously!!!!!
I use a fair amount of exclamation points and I don't think any less of people for using them. Obviously if they're used excessively or if there's about three of them (Wow!!!), I tend to take it as more of a jokey or silly comment so I do take it less seriously sometimes.
