I think a link to the thread appears in every post or something? I have no idea.

There's probably a bunch of other forum functions I don't know what to do with either.

The page refreshes, putting the URL for that particular post in your address bar, meaning you're always able to link to it; instead of just bringing you to the page, it'll automatically scroll down to that post.
