I actually wrote a story about a heavenly body that caused the cessation of all electricity on Earth in a semi-permanent way. It was fun to write but I didn't know the science to back it up.

If the symptoms shown on the site are true, just about. Ocean Creatures seem to be just fine, though. Tornadoes and Earthquakes all over the planet can't hurt them. Unless there's a huge oil spill.
