Voting against Jack was painful, but strictly based on character quality, I really thought Hades was an amusing character. I can't believe Jessica Rabbit has made it this far though. Pevs.
A. Genie (Aladdin)
B. Iago (Aladdin)
C. Jack Skellington (The Nightmare Before Christmas)
D. Kronk (The Emperor's New Groove)

This is so weaksauce.
How did this group of characters end up the ones to be in the quarterfinals?
Anyway.
1) Genie
2) Scar
3) Jack Skellington
4) Jessica Rabbit
I can no longer vote, only crappy characters remain People just don't appreciate classics any more
People voted for them in rounds one through to four more than they voted for their opponents. If you would like a breakdown of the votes, feel free to read over the threads.
*smartass* =x
Seriously though, you can't expect personal favourites to make it all the way every time. This is the first time my two favourites have made it so far! But having said that, one of them will not make it to the next round. Mufasa going out to Hades was a bit of a shocker for me, but eh.
As for the classic characters such as Goofy and co, I never was a massive fan of the old-school stuff. Times have changed, and characters can have more to them these days. Donald Duck losing to Mulan was just insane, though.
Great turnout with the votes this time around, though - #1 seeded Genie continues to storm past all opposition with ease, as Ariel sits 11 votes down on him. The other three matchups are all rather close, though...

I'm sad to see Simba go.
Ariel and Scar are great characters. Films such as The Little Mermaid and The Lion King are Disney's gems, too - no different than older films such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Cinderella; the same can be said about Aladdin.
All of them have timeless characters, I think. =O
It should be noted that you don't need to have a great movie to have a great character, too. It's only recently that I remembered Atlantis' "Mole". That guy was a laugh.
Helga: Someone needs to talk to that girl.
Mole: I will go!
Vinny: Someone with good people skills.
Mole: I will do it!
Dr. Sweet: Someone who won't scare her away.
Mole: I volunteer!
Wilhelmina: Someone who can speak the language.
Mole: For the good of the mission, I will go!
Commander Rourke: [to Milo, who is not paying attention] Good man, Thatch. Thanks for volunteering.
[Mole cries]

Once again the results were surprising. As much as I like Kronk, Maleficent is in a league of her own.
As for Disney's older characters, I'd say that both them and the newer characters have earned their place in Disney's animated classics. Although times change, even the old characters have remained popular and interesting thanks to new artists and storytellers who work with them not to mention the classic films themselves which still manage to attract people. After all, the newest Goofy short had very positive responses from the audiences that saw it, so it shows that classic Disney characters are still going strong even in films.
And yes, Atlantis had some great characters. One of the film's main problems was that its cast was too big for its own good. Taking a couple of characters out would've been better for character development, although I nevertheless liked the group dynamic that was in the finished film.
Anyway, here are my picks:
A. Genie (Aladdin)
B. Scar (The Lion King)
C. Hades (Hercules)
D. Kronk (The Emperor's New Groove)
How I met your mother, Donald Duck's parents style! Love at first temper tantrum!
