Your players actual name is Wanchope, but I'm sticking nicknames to EoFF usernames so anyone who comes along will realise who is actually 'belonging' to an EoFFer and who is just a regular player who they can 'take over'.

On to the next game, though.

45:00 - The first half was full of chances, but it's nil-all at half time. Harvest in particular has had a lot of chances, while DK and Martin have probably had the best of them. The opposition has had just as many chances, though, and Cz is a bit of concern when it comes to handling the pace of those who come up against him. He gets beaten a bit too easily for my liking. I'll give him a bit longer, though, give a chance to impress. I know he's got the stats to back him up but I just really want to see him play to his potential.

    No changes at half time.

61:57 - Crap, they've scored. Their player muscled in past Heath this time, getting a very close one-on-one with smitten just outside her left post. before scoring across at the right post.

63:30 - What a shot by Edge! So close, from such distance. Good attempt, but he's getting a bit tired having played more minutes than anyone this preseason so far.

64:18 - Subs come on now. Harvest, who has tired himself out, is subbed out for Saunders, who will move to the right while Psy goes up front. Leopold finally comes on for Cz. Levian also comes on for Heath. I'm wanting the real change to come up front, though, with a lot more aggression in the attack. The finishing needs to improve in a big way. Our captain Edge is subbed off this time around, as I want Dude to get a bit of time in the middle with Martin to see how they compliment each other.

82:23 - And the changed tactics pay off! Dude happily accepts a pass in from Martin and feeds in Psychotic, who scores in the top right corner from 25 yards, making the goalkeeper look rather redundant.

94:00 - A 1-1 draw is completed after a lot of defending throughout injury time. The ref blows the whistle and although I obviously would have preferred a win, I'm happy that we've come back from a poor position with little possession to get to a point that we've scored a good goal. The second half performance was far better than the first, and the ratings seem to reflect that.

EDIT: I just remembered after reading through this thread again - yes, Cz, I change the tactics, too.

EDIT: Just to confirm our situation...

Worrying stuff so far, although performances in friendlies aren't really indicative of how the team will play in the proper season. Maybe if we pull ourselves together and get a result against the mighty Havant & Waterlooville then the situation will start looking better.

You guys have to remember that I put Eyeson F.C. in place of the recently-promoted Daggers who were in Conference the season beforehand, so it's not a massive surprise we're rated so low. I prefer having a struggle than easing through things. Makes the accomplishments feel better.

07:30 - Good chance from Dan, but the keeper tips it over.
08:57 - GOAL! blim passes the ball who taps it over to Psychotic, brilliant one-touch play there - and a goal to finish it off, Psychotic hits it over the keeper from a narrow angle and it's 0-1 to Eyeson.
20:00 - Ooh, good opportunity as blim feeds Cz who runs up the line and passes to Harvest, he runs around the right-back and gets into a wondeful position to strike from but it's gone over.
22:50 - Oxford on the counter attack and Hill is in a good position, but a good tackle and quick passing from Heath and Manus gets the ball back into the other end of the pitch.
26:05 - Oxford almost score from the result of an indirect free kick, but smitten manages to punch it over the bar.
44:00 - Psychotic fantastically steals the ball from a defender in the penalty area and feeds in DK, but it's gone straight to the keeper.
45:00 - Half time and no subs for Eyeson just yet as the players are largely in form and none of them are tired.
55:00 - blim takes the ball all the way up but his cross finds Mason, who sends a long ball back to Hill. Manus can't keep up and despite pressure from both central defenders, he gets the ball in for a goal. smitten was guarding her right post which is where the ball went in - not sure what happened there.
62:57 - OH! So close! Ouch! sends in a brilliant cross from the midfield right and Harvest is right on the end of it - but the keeper has got a finger to it and it's gone over the bar.
63:48 - ;oaihsioashg On the counter attack from the resulting corner, the Oxford forwards run up and completely run around our defence and score a goal on the right side once again. Really, really disappointed with the defence for that one. Terrible display. They had a lot of time to prepare for what was coming but they were made to look like fools.
    70:00 - Substitutions.

74:58 - DK has a good chance but can't make the most of it.
75:54 - Saunders reaches a long ball just before it reaches the line and feeds in Leopold who heads it towards goal - another good save from the Oxford keeper, though, leads to a corner, which Saunders shockingly puts into the side netting before it reaches a player.
    87:00 - Southam replaces a tired Dude.
92:00 - Our last good chance of the match as Cz feeds Saunders who shoots, but it skims it off the outside of the left post.
93:00 - It's all over, 2-1 loss to Oxford when we were meant to run them ragged. Time for me to have a good think about these players and tactics.

Looks like the fans find this display better than the draw and all other losses, but are still disappointed. I don't blame them, really, but at least we're heading in the right direction and our players are combining in a much better way.

In other news, trialist Martin has accepted our £400p/w offer and I find him to be a better player than Southam. Nine years younger and he's better at, well, everything. The only weaker areas are concentration, stamina and natural fitness but these are things that can be worked on. His passing is particularly better. The dealbreaker was that all of this is £200p/w cheaper, so it's a win on every level as far as I'm concerned. Dude and Edge now have what I feel is much more adequate cover.

Now I just need to find a prospective buyer for Southam. Five clubs are interested, so hopefully we can work something out.

[...later] I've listed him for £5k, which is better than the £95k I'd have to pay him to release him on a free. Three prospective clubs, one offering a 5% sell on fee which I accepted from Nuneaton. Hopefully this get sorted soon enough.

    On to more important things!

Welcome back to Jess. You all may note the player numbers have been decided.

couple of players who might be worth looking at (they signed for my Brentford team no probs so might come to us):

Chris Martin - Striker - Norwich (loanee, no wages)
    Jody Morris - Unattached

Also Sefo Soley but his wage demands might be too high.

Cant wait for the match against Brentford

10:00 - First real chance of the match goes to DK. Some really nice passing between our midfielders, who feed him to take a shot but it goes straight at the keeper's chest.
10:58 - Havant's keeper feeds the ball out to the midfielders quickly and they in turn get the ball to their forward at a rapid speed, and before you know it, 1-0. Bugger. A replay shows that Cz headed the ball back towards the keeper, but in the end it only went straight into the line of their forward. A gift of a goal, definitely.
22:00 - 2-0 already. Really get the impression that Heath and Manus don't know what they're doing as the ball is passed around by the two Havant forwards with ease and the defenders make no attempt to tackle. Baptiste gets his second without being troubled at all.
24:25 - A corner for us and Dude heads it over.
26:40 - Baptiste gets the ball and feeds in Slabber but smitten comfortably saves.
27:28 - Some direct passing and once again it's Baptiste and Slabber on show as Slabber shoots wide. Tactics now changed for tight marking on Baptiste with heavy tackling to be employed. This guy is so far running the whole game on his own.
32:01 - Not the whole game anymore! Jess picks up a pass from blim on the left of then penalty box and the keeper parries her shot, but only into DK who is more than happy to pick up the pieces. 2-1!
40:43 - DK picks up the ball 30 yards out and dribbles it to the other side of the pitch before sending the ball wide of the goal. I'm not sure if that was a cross or a shot - if it was a shot it wasn't close to being on target but if it was a cross there was nobody running onto it.
41:34 - It's all Eyeson right now as Jess repeats her run that lead to the goal, but this time shoots higher and the ball is put over the bar. Brilliant save by the keeper.
45:00 (+2:00) - Psychotic gets a shot on goal but it's straight at the keeper.
45:00 - Half time and it's anyone's game at the moment. The first 30 minutes were the Baptiste show but since then it's been constant attack by Eyeson.
49:47 - DK shoots wide from a one-on-one position with the keeper.
61:24 - DK shoots but the keeper saves, the ball parries out to a Havant defender and it's put out for a corner.
62:53 - That's the third corner in a row and the penalty box is stacked. Only Cz and blim are outside of it, and blim takes the corner once more - GOAL! 2-2! Edge, in the middle of a pack of defenders, somehow gets the ball past the man on the post and it's a wonderful comeback.

66:56 - Psychotic, marked by an injured defender, misses a sitter in front of goal.
70:45 - Manus... Edge... Ouch!... DK... GOAL! 2-3! A wondeful long ball finds DK's head with ease and it's a splendid header. The runs made by DK have really troubled the H&W defenders and that's his second for Eyeson tonight.

77:00 - Brilliant keeping by smitten who parries a shot off one H&W forward straight to the winger - but his shot is also saved. Two sitters, two saves, and there's a pat on the back from Heath.
77:23 - Wholesale changes made by BoB as seven players are substituted.
80:23 - GOAL! 2-4! Cz and Leopold struggle with two defenders and the ball is eventually cleared. Harvest, who was waiting for a cross in the penalty box, runs with such pace to the 25 yard spot, turns and shoots! It's in, and that's his first goal, which should do him the world of confidence.
    82:33 - Shot by H&W's Pacquette but it's wide.
84:06 - A thumping shot by Saunders but it's also gone just wide.
87:50 - smitten takes a goalkick. Stevens heads it and, upon collecting, Harvest finds himself facing the keeper with all H&W defenders caught napping and he's got it in! Good composure shown by the striker who makes no mistake, slotting it past the keeper's right and into the netting.

89:00 - Almost a hattrick! Harvest finds himself once again with an incredible amount of space! He's hit the shot wide, though - he'll be gutted with that but he seems to be laughing it off.
92:15 - That's both keepers making double saves this match. Scriven puts the first shot from Saunders straight in front of the goal but recovers in time to stop the second shot from Stevens.
92:26 - Saunders collects the ball, sends in a lovely cross and it gets passed around the penalty box by Stevens, Harvest and then over to Leopold who puts it on target but a good save by Scriven means it's a corner.
94:00 - It's all over and the Eyeson fans applaud their team for coming back from 2-0 down to score five goals without response.

Between a couple of games there's a lot happening this time around. The next game will be a big one since it's our first competitive fixture, well, ever. So, let's check the ol' messages... first of all, I'm to decide on your bonuses. I'm going for a high bonus on league position but a normal bonus on cups. I think the league position is more important as we've got a big task ahead of us right now.

    Cheers, Manus.

    What.

    Eh.

    Cheers, James.

    WHAT. >=O!!!

Crap. We have three goalkeepers injured throughout the club right now. So Thompson will start, he's our second keeper. But after that, we're going down the the U-18's to fill in our bench.

Sorry Manus, but smitten out-classed you in the key areas of influence and determination. I also see her as more likely to not lose out on position anytime too soon. Even if she's injured for a game or two. D'oh. Also sorry to Splurt - it wouldn't let me pick you!

    Hmm.

Good good. Should've sold him for more in retrospect, but I really wanted to get it over and done with before the transfer window moved too close.

    About time!

Also, the similarity of the result is made even more funnier by us playing at Aiyonfield. Love FM for that game!

Also, stop refering to Donal as Edge. Seriously. It's just confusing.

A good result, at last! That should give us momentum for the Morecambe game, which is the sort of fixture we ought to be able to win.

    Also, sorry for sucking.
