    Eyeson F.C.

Welcome to Eyeson Football Club, the (currently) League Two side made up of EoFF's members and run using Football Manager 2008. Well, mostly. Anyway. To save on an in-depth introduction, I'm going to get straight into things. Maybe someday I'll write up a proper introduction for this thread, but needless to say this is the thread in which I will be posting all the going-ons. I'm sure it will be extremely painful to get all these images put up, but eh, it should keep me busy at least until I get sick of it.

    Again: Welcome to Eyeson F.C.

First day of the job! After having a quick look at the squad, I've checked my inbox and found a few messages.

A nice little message, there. He's attached a link to the board confidence witih relation to myself, so let's have a look at that, too...

Sounds reasonable, at least so far. I'll have to have a look at how things go over the next season before I really have any idea if that actually is the case, though. I understand we've been (somehow) entered into League Two in place of a team which was promoted but then got stabbed (yes, as a group). So really, we're probably not going to do too well in our first season and it's possible we'll get relagated. I'll, er, keep that to myself though. No need to spread pessimism just yet.

    Onto the next message.

I'll keep all of that in mind. Roogle also has attached something... a basic report of sorts.

Well, that's a nice report from Roog, but I've noticed that Psy is missing from his suggested lineup. I quickly have a look at this Saunders chap in comparison to him because I was told before recruiting this group that he'd be one of the better players.

Hmm, I'll stick with Psy for now. We can work on his mental skills, but personally I find his physical skills to be superior as a whole. We'll have to see how things go.

Finally, there's also a report on Heath attached.

    Excellent!

Now, let's check out our final message.

A quick check on those numbers and I realise that I'm already over budget on my salaries. Uh oh. Time for me to have a look at where my wage allowance is being spent...

I figure I'll also check out the Failridden while I'm at it, to see if there's some talent I can boot out from there.

I'll have to think this over a bit and check out my options in the transfer market, methinks. If Kishi is good enough at his scouting, maybe he can find me someone with better skills and a lower wage demand than some of the players we have here. Still, lots of time yet, let's not rush ourselves. I'll send him on a mission throughout the UK & Ireland to look for quality players at less then £500 p/w. Hopefully it won't take too long...

£8.5k wage budget is terrible. You should be able to renegotiate some players' contracts to cut the current bill down a bit, though. Most players at that level will accept a £50/75 p/w cut from their wage demands, which isn't much individually but soon adds up across a squad of twenty or more players.

Good call starting Psy, by the way. Pace is incredibly important in the lower levels, and a speedy player, especially one with a good dribbling stat can be very effective. Plus, like you say, mental stats are easier to develop than physical, so while this Saunders guy will probably never get any faster, Paul can easily improve the mental side of his game.

EDIT: Nice photo. I can imagine the half time bollockings already. xD

EDIT 2: Just realised the Under 18's should have been called The Newbies. Is it too late for that now?

Sadly, it won't let you rename the youth team. I had the same idea.

Fixtures ahoy! It seems nobody of a higher level than ourselves wants to play a friendly against us, which is a slight concern for me as I want the club to be financially successful. Oh well. Six friendlies to find out about the squad!

And let's get prepared for a York game. Sorry, Spurt, but I have bad news for you - this injury is going to keep you out for 4-5 months. We will certainly miss you! Damaged knee cartilage is a bitch.

What do you mean, nobody of a higher level? The mighty Havant & Waterlooville have agreed to grace us with their presence!

Will you be making any new signings before the season starts, BoB? Particularly loan signings? It would break up the first team of EoFFers, of course, but it'd give us a much greater chance of success. A painful dilemma...

EDIT: Speaking of pain, poor Splurt. Good thing we've got cover in midfield.

I sort of want us to lose to Havant.

(loyalty was pretty down there on my list iirc)

Psy: You never know how many NZ'ers I might con the government into giving a work permit.

Our tactics are going to be fairly simple in this early stage of the game.

It's possible that I will indeed sign up some new players but at the moment I'm concentrating on our existing team. Finding out who will take a cut in wages will also be intersting, I'll start on that (along with training changes) the day after the game.

    Key Man (Eyeson): Heath
Key Man (York): Manny Panther. With a name like that, you've got a lot to live up to.

We're even odds for this match so let's get a win in our first game, please!

    4-4-2 is for pussies. I propose 2-3-5.

Not so awesome right now. Our defenders moved pretty high up and Manus never stood a chance when their pacey striker was fed a recently-stolen ball and moved up front to go one on one with smitten, lobbing the ball over the reach of the advancing keeper and scoring a goal to lead 0-1 at half time. I'll be doing a fair few subs now.

Only real good chance of the match is when blim, Jess and Eyeson temporary captain Edge got a few good one-two passes together and ended up spoiling a chance right in front of goal.
