Hmm...

Tidus, FFX - metal armour, a hooded shirt, and baggy clothing are not what one should wear for underwater sport.

Ashe, FFXII - her outfit's well designed, but that miniskirt looks daft. It also looks like it was made from a cloth the size of a handerchief. Additionally, no-one should wear metal armour over bare skin - unless they like chafing. That last part could apply to a lot of game characters, though...

Yuna and Rikku, FFX-2 - they're doing a lot of outdoor adventuring, so clothing that affords protection would be wise. Instead, neither has any protection for their legs, elbows, hands, wrists, or abdomen. Both have some arm decoration, but nothing remotely practical. A single gallavant through a forest or mountains would leave them covered in scrapes and bruises, especially all that scrabbling over stone ruins. Also, Yuna would be forever tripping over that synthetic ponytail that hangs to her ankles, and Rikku likewise with her scarf.

Squall, FFVIII - tight leather doesn't lend itself to dexterity. A swordsman needs to be light on his feet and have full mobility in his arms and upper body; he'd be impaired if he had to keep fighting against restrictive clothing.
