Considering FFXII is the earliest in the Ivalice timeline, I believe manufacted nethicite later became the Zodiac stones.

i cannot stand it when they mispronounce marquis. i think them saying manufacted and magiks is a little neat though

I looked at my accessory and it says without a doubt 'manufacted nethicite'. The game also spells magic as 'magick' (which is technically acceptable) and technique as 'technick' (which annoys the hell out of me).

It must be part of the localization style, then. I think that Magick, Technicks, and other naming conventions were only added to make them seem more than they were. Magic and Technique look a lot less interesting than Magick and Technick.

The arcaic English in that game annoys the crap out of me.
