Listen, the version I learned has internal rhyme, and besides, egg and away pretty much DO rhyme. You just say it 'aig' and forget to say much of the g.

I just checked your profile and I heard the correct version before you were born too. What is it with kids these days? Some television show comes and changes the words to a silly rhyme and everyone born after the fact forgets the way it was originally.

There's a difference between a rhyme and an approximate rhyme, by the way. I remember, back in the day, when all silly little rhymes actually rhymed.

Not that any of this has any bearing on actual life, of course. It's a silly thing to argue about.

There may be a difference between rhyme and approximate rhyme, but only semantics. They still sound pleasing to the ear 8)

I hereby decree that my version is better because
A. It rhymes
And B. This is the way it was before The Simpsons came along and changed it to your version.

But this was the way it was in a Batman commercial for Christmas special a long time ago.

Dude, chill. I didn't change anything in the quote, and if anything is changed it wasn't intentional. So no, I don't feel ridiculous. It's only a goddamned small difference in the rhyme, it doesn't really matter.

Dude, I fixed the typo. It was a joke. A joke I was making in light of my typo. It's okay. You can laugh. Go back and read it from the beginning. You'll notice what I'm talking about.
