A'yo, no disrespect, but if you don't know the difference, you really shouldn't be judging. Anyway, Rap is a more about rapping about things like possessions like car and cloths and focuses on thing of that nature including women and other things you hear on the radio on a daily bases. Hip Hop is more of a poetical form of music focusing on things like life, progression and more of a meaningful feel. Normally the two get mixed up by people who know nothing of the differences but those type of things don't get to me. As I said before, everyone has their own opinion...
