Hold on, isn't rap and Hip hop two different styles of preforming music, not what the music is about?

I mean look at rap, Jason Mraz does rap in some of his songs, and they don't normally resemble bitches and hoes rap you hear from others. In addition theres the Earthbound Rap on youtube and other such things.

It's kinda silly to define a Genre by the type of music it plays.

I see rap as more of a technique of fast talking in a rythim and ryming, at least thats my general description of it. I don't really feel like getting into details on it. :P

Hip hop is similar, but rather then the fast talking they do more singing to make their voices sound more musical.

That my friends, is a brief description of the difference.

Actually, it is broken into different genres for lots of reasons. Delivery, Technique, Lyrics, that's only three different things that break them up. But don't ask me why it like that, it's just the way it is. Lol, black people...:rolleyes2
