Default Play FFI on the Comp?

Hey all, new to the forums and recently found my old NES system and FFI game, but alas, no power cord in sight =(

Curious... Can anyone point me in the right direction to get the game working for my comp?

Edit... Ya I mean where could I get a power cord for it.

    Cheers all!

That's because ROMS are pretty much illegal, so technically we cannot publicly send you any link. But you can google for "NES ROMS" and "NES emulators" and you will get all that you need.
Most emulators also come with a convenient readme file that tells you everything you need to know. In case you should still need help, write here. Explaining how to use an emulator is not illegal.
Generally, you need to choose "open ROM" from the File menu, then specify the path of the ROM file. Also you usually can configure a gamepad, if you have one. Instructions may vary depending on the emulator you choose to use, though.

Don't worry, you can talk about emulators here, what you can't do is to send/ask links for ROM files, because that could put us into trouble. But a lot of us use emulators, they are still the only way to play the original versions of FF 2 and 3 if you don't know Japanese.

You could try to find mihalis' FF1 Remake if you really want to play it on your computer.

Not particularly. Emulators are legal because they're freeware-- a program created by someone, not-for-profit.

ROMs are a different story. They are games that are ported without permission to an emulator. Basically, instead of buying the game, you can play it for free on your computer. So in other words, it's illegal because you're screwing the company who made the game out of their money. The ironic truth is: very few people actually care.

Oh I see, and yes that is a very ironic truth.

I thought roms were ok if you already owned a copy of the game, which he does in this case. But this may have been a widespread internet rumor to justify the use of them.

Technically you're only meant to use an image of the game that you specifically own. You can't, for example, use an image of the same game from a different region.
