Although you shooting him is a good idea, are you sure you want to waste your kill? And how do we know he isn't a different role, like how serial killer was night kill immune in one of the last games?

It's fine, I can kill every day. And this proves he is not a mafia goon, so that's something. It admittedly does not prove that he is not a Godfather/Serial Killer but I do think it means we should lay off the lynch.
