    Hi guys, taking a break from Gen Chat for a minute:

    Who is your favorite current artist?

    Mine? Bon Iver


    Bon Iver is the stage and recording name of indie folk singer-songwriter Justin Vernon. He independently released his debut album, For Emma, Forever Ago in 2007, the majority of which was recorded while spending four months in a remote cabin in Wisconsin. He previously was a member of DeYarmond Edison, an indie-rock band from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where Vernon still resides.<sup id="_ref-0" class="reference">[1]</sup><sup id="_ref-1" class="reference">[2]</sup>
    Vernon's debut album garnered critical acclaim, with Pitchfork Media giving it an 8.1 rating in an early review, and was picked up by the indie-rock label Jagjaguwar, which re-released it in early 2008.<sup id="_ref-2" class="reference">[3]</sup> The album will be released in the UK and Europe on 12 May, 2008.<sup id="_ref-3" class="reference">[4]</sup>

    Right now I listen to Cat Power, Choir of Young Believers and Devendra Banhart quite a bit more than everything else.. but I basically have many favourites.

    As for what I'm into right now, Xiu Xiu.

    A pic is actually in my sig. They do experimental rock/indie/punk. Not like anything I've ever heard before. I tend to get the "love them or hate them" vibe and nothing in between. I love them, obviously, though there are some songs I don't really like.
