    Default West of Gatrea

I'm very close to the beginning, just did a lot of leveling around Gatrea, heading for Fynn for the first time in the PSX version. Once I cross the bridge west of the town-Whammo!-I'm fighting Werewolves and other high level monsters that can wipe out my party in one round.

Is this supposed to happen? How can I get to Fynn if I keep running into foes that I'm way underleveled for? Are they even supposed to be there?

There are certain areas around there that once you cross the line the enemies get tougher. To get to Fynn just hug the lake and don't stray too far from it and you'll be fine. You shouldn't have to fight anything too tough to get there.

Thanks, I managed to get to Fynn now.

Man, this game is unforgiving when you stray off the beaten path.

You should try playing the game on the NES version. Items don't stack and half your inventory is taken up by key items.

Longest final dungeon run I've ever had.
