Artist starves dog as part of installation.
So this was brought to my attention, an artist from Costa Rica picked a dog off the street and starved him until he died.
You can read about it here:
"Artist" starves a dog to death as a work of art | AMP: Artists' Meeting Place & Resource Collective
There are always arguments about what is considered art, and I feel that killing a defenseless animal definitely doesn't qualify as art.
Where do you draw the line when it comes to art?
Thoughts.

VICIOUS GEEK SOOT~ヽ(`Д´)ノ
Far before there. The concept may be presentable as "art": but to execute it is simply unacceptable.
Wasn't there a thread on this already? I'm sure I've seen it before...

It's not like there aren't a thousand dogs that have already died of starvation floating around. if you HAVE to have a dead bony dog, you might as well find one that's already died.
This makes me think of those cow carcasses on display at wherever it was

I think livid is the term most appropriate to describe my feelings about this.
Signature by rubah. I think.

There is a video on youtube showing the dog 'on display', so it is very real.
I think showing an already dead dog and tying up a dying dog and refusing it food when you could surely feed him is really different.
Its so horrible :/

C'mon C'mon
Considering he took it off the street, there's always a possibility it would've just died anyway. At least this way it's actually being used for something. It's pretty crappy though, since it's just tied to a little piece of string stuck to a plug socket.
OOC: Scrolling past the pictures of the dog, there's a jug-thing with a face, and it's smurfing epic.
