My lights are off for approximately sixteen hours a day. I do enough.

Although I realize it's about observing an actual worldwide effort more than the one hour out of millions, I don't see how it helps that much. It raises awareness, yes. But in the same way as awareness is raised to children in kindergarten. I actually am more recently doing many things to detract from the negative effect I have on the planet, and I feel good in doing so, but the problem is that people don't really care enough to do more than these little pop culture things. Sure there are resources available for those that wish to pursue them, but most will 'flick off' or 'shut down' or whatever and then forget until the TV or newspaper tells them to do it again. This saddens me and perhaps can account for a lot of the jaded responses you may receive.
I just turned my lights back on half an hour or so ago. The lack of lights didn't bother me. Me and my boyfriend just had sex instead![]()
I reiterate:
I shall crush the earth under my vast mechanical boot of iron and steel. Industry shall prevail. A single city of trillions shall encompass all the land on Earth; nature is our tool to be used and dispensed with as we see fit.
Earth First! We'll pave the other planets later!
