I've just realised why I hate Day One, and it isn't the usual "GRRRR DAY ONE!" reason. Everyone suspects the hell out of me 'cause I dare to actually, y'know, talk. That is until I start producing scum corpse after scum corpse. Oh well, this is the path I have chosen and it has never failed me yet.
I agree with ed that no townie is expendable. I'd rather find a scum for connections and the like rather than just who voted for the worthless townie.
Yeah but no one ever seems to be mafia in round 1. You have to be a really crappy mafia to get voted out round 1. So that's why in round 1s I usually go for people who are inactive or I don't think will be a big help to the town. In my opinion you have just as good a chance of getting a mafia that way as you would any other way, and the benefit of my method is that if you are wrong and hit a town then you aren't really that worse off.

I meant finding connections on Day Two based on the cardflip of scum today. And it's sue as hell possible for us to find one. In a 23-man game, I don't approve of writing off day one as a useless exercise where we're bound to hit town, but I can understand where people are coming from. In a smaller game with longer days, absolutely not. Me and Jojo both found scum on Day One of C9 I, and there was a scum lynch on Day One of C9 II. No reason why we can't have that kind of success here.
On that note, I'd like to hear more from Sir Lancealot.
oddler was nothing more than luck, though. How did you guys find the scum on C9 I?

To be fair that should be against the rules. I mean, I was PMing NeoCracker for 2 hours last night about the mafia game we where going to set up, and I PM Dynast-Kid all the time, it would be stupid if I died because people saw, "Private Messaging".
Even in the last game, you guys actually caught me PMing Leen-Leen :P
What the hell? No, I didn't. I used Shiny as bait to lure GB out while he tried to make a big deal out of what was going on. He basically fell for my trap.
What's the point in using PMs to catch people? You might as well have the scum admit to it on day one and save yourself the bother of playing. I dropped out of Mafia I because I saw who was PMing who and I'd do the same if I saw it happening in this game.
I don't think she did it on Day 1, though. Day 3, yeah, but we'd already won by then anyway.
