Thread: remove taskbar icon?

    remove taskbar icon?

    is it possible to remove a certain taskbar icon, but the app will still be running on startup. i just don't want that particular icon to be shown. and im not referring to the "hide inactive icons" by xp. thanks.

    There might be an option such as 'show icon in taskbar' in the program preferences that you can untick. I'm not sure how you could remove it manually though.

    I know you said you're not referring to the "Hide inactive icons" checkbox, but did you try the "Customize" button when "Hide inactive icons" is checked? For all of the icons that can be displayed, you can choose between "Hide when inactive", "Always hide" and "Always show".
