I am tempted to say that I would let myself starve before I ever had a job that involved calling people...

I would have said the same thing eight months ago. Then my previous job got too boring, I was under poor leadership, and I felt my talents were being wasted, so I just went for it.

Heh, good for you, but in my case, it's not a dislike, it's an abject fear. Unless the phone call is from someone I know, I don't answer. The number of people I can call out to is countable on my fingers.
