I had a really awesome idea for a General Chat thread, I'm thrilled.
I want to make an EoFF version of Post Secret. No one has ever done it before. Every EoFFer who wishes to participate can make an anonymous text confession or send in a post card (a photoshop sort of post card, or a picture of a real one.) Those who are comfortable can do it by PM, but for those who are nervous can send it to me by email. I won't look up their email if it's used here, but I'd recommend using an account that most people don't know of here. They will be posted in the thread.
The rules are obviously that they cannot be insulting or offensively against the rules of EoFF (ie: no porn, no offensive language, etc)
Anyone like this?

Floor meeting was really quick, but I did come up with a good thread idea for the XII forum, favorite espers to use.

So, on the topic of remakes... Well, keep in mind I am in a serious discussion/debate mood tonight. I was thinking of using this idea for the FFIV forum, but it could easily apply to any FF that gets remade, or that gets a sequel or prequel like the FFVII franchise, for example.
Anyway, my idea is about discussing the reasons why fans sometime get divided about remakes and sequesl/prequels to their favourite games. It's something that passionates people because I've seen a lot of blogs about the subject. When Square-Enix decides to remake a Final Fantasy game or give a sequel or prequel to one, are they really doing what the fans want? Is it okay to expend on the universe of that game, even if it means destroying plot points that were originally viewed as canon, sometimes for over a decade, but no longer are considered as such under the new (official) storyline? And while the company holds the copyright and the games on paper, does it only belong to them, especially when sometimes it's the fans and not SE's marketting department that have kept the interests for those game going for years by doing such things as building websites, drawing fanarts, writing fanfictions, etc?

Thats sounds like a great idea, but not just for one game, lets put it in general Square Enix or General Final fantasy, because that way the discussion can broaden to more people, and I think the discussion would evolve better in one of those forums.
I also came up with an idea for the Video Game music forum. in some games, there is special music used for a few battles. Was this a good idea or not? It is another debate that I think has a lot of potential and would love to see occur.
As I said, that was my original idea for the FFIV forum, but I've suggested it so it can be used for General FF or General SE.
I like this idea for the Video Game Music forum. It's actually something I've pondered for a while, so that's probably going to be something I'll yap a lot about if it's posted. xD
Rye? Maybe it's just the language barrier kicking in, but can you elaborate on the secret post idea? I'm afraid you've lost me there.
I've had another idea, this time for General Gaming: a discussion about the future of online gaming, text games vs graphical games, multi-player vs solitary, paid vs free, etc. I must admit it's a subject that passions me, being a volunteer staff for an online game. Any thoughts?
Do we just trust people to make gud poasts?
I don't mind grabbing the FF8 forum. I'm sure I can come up with something good there.

PostSecret is a website where people send in anonymous post cards with a secret/confession/or just ideas and comments. I thought it'd be neat if we had EoFFers sending in stuff in a similar fashion to me anonymously, and I'd post them.
I think people need to lighten up about the selection for the team name. In the end, I doubt it matters. I don't really care what we are, as long as it's not something so absolutely boring as Group A.
I get the feeling Ouch!'s comment is directed at me. I'm not against a Silly, light-hearted team name. I just think it's something that should be more representative of the group.
Edit: I've just thought of something for The Lounge. Again, a debate, this time sparked by some discussions I've seen going on at deviantART about mature content. Like why anything with a sexual theme is generally frowned upon in most western societies, even if the subject is treated tastefully, but no one bats an eyelash about excessive violence and gore in movies and other media.
I told you I was in a serious discussion mood tonight. Either that, or my age is showing. (*sobs* I have white hair, I'm starting to get wrinkles, and my breasts are sagging.)
