Problems since upgrade

Ever since the server upgrade the thing at the top of the screen says I have one unread PM but I didn't get any new PMs. Also, some of the thread icons and image folders that show new posts or closed threads have changed.

About the icons, I think the new poll icon is actually nicer then the old blue box with an X in at, and the closed threads are closed, you are probably not going to post in them anyway.

Is the prompt coming up for the PM? If not then you may have selected the mark PM as unread option by accident.

I've found if the site boots me off and I log back on later, my unread threads that I read show up as unread again, as if I was never on the last time. So the same sort of thing might result from the upgrade.

But yes, you should look over your PM folder.

If you have multiple pages of PMs, go back through the previous pages of your PMs and make sure that one of your old PMs didn't get marked as unread.

Strangely, I have the same problem but I know that's not the solution because I have zero PMs.

I'm also getting a problem similar to yours, BG-57. The forum's main index page sometimes loads as if it's April 10th at about 9 PM. The upgrade was done shortly before that. Coincidence?

Could be. I've been on sites where they sometimes reverted to an old save from months earlier.

I've had that same deal with an "unread" PM for like four months now. It's really annoying.

The unread PM will go away if you prune all your PMs in all the boxes. =D

I don't really want to delete 5000 PMs unless I can back them up. But that's broken, too.

It's probably one at the very beginning of your PMs dated 1969 that you can't delete and has no subject.

I can help out with this. Please can anyone with this problem PM me and I will send you a link to the PM which is listed as unread. There is a table in the database which lists which PMs have and have not been read, and finding it doesn't require me having visibility of the text within the PM. I should be able to create you a link using the pmid which is listed as unread.
