My favorite to explore was probably Zebes from Super Metroid.

Although you don't actually "explore" them, I've wondered what it would be like to live somewhere on Elibe or Tellius. Like for example, the feeling one gets riding the skies on the back of a wyvern, or being able to witness the powers certain shape-shifters have. (Manaketes for Elibe, and the Laguz for Tellius.) Also imagining what it would be like to be that type of shape-shifter.
Anyone who played Fire Emblems VI, VII, IX, and X would know what I'm talking about.
