Default Music players in Final Fantasy GBA remakes

Does anyone ever use the music player "extra feature" in the GBA remakes of the various Final Fantasy games? In the past I thought of them as a space filler that Square-Enix could use to claim they had new features but lately I've been listening to them at night when I go to bed. I find some of the songs relaxing and a great way to unwind.

My computer has the FF soundtracks on them. Listening to the lower-quality GBA versions doesn't sound like a great idea. :P

The GBA doesn't always have lower quality. I find this especially true for V Advance, I vastly prefer the music there to the SNES OST (especially on 'The Decisive Battle'). Also, the FF I DoS Final Battle track for FF I sounds so much more epic on the GBA compared to the FF Origins or Aniversary editions, IMHO.

I used to listen to FF I and II DoS Music Player a lot. Now, not so much anymore. But I always thought the music player was a nice addition.

I prefer to use plug-ins on WinAmp and play the video game music over my computer. It has the same sound quality as the music player feature, and the plug-in loops the music repeatedly, too.

I don't use them that much. I may listen to songs from them every once in a while.

    Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

It is good on consoles like PSP, that have a fairly nice sound quality. I usually prefer to listen to MP3s, though.

I agree, KoShiatar. Video game music is the only type of music that I listen to, yet I could not see myself holding a Gameboy Advance up to my ear and listening to the music like a music player.

I don't hold the GBA up to my ear.

I listen to it with headphones when I'm lying in bed.

Maybe you should purchase an MP3 player. Do you like listening from the Gameboy Advance because the songs loop, or because the Gameboy Advance has slightly different instrumentation than that on the soundtrack?

I enjoy the looping. I usually want to listen to a single song on repeat when I go to bed. I don't listen to FF music on my mp3 player so I don't want to put any FF music on it if the GBA is doing the same job at the moment.

I do this too, although I have to say I usually prefer listening to the instrumentation of the SNES OSTs instead of the GBA versions.

I use them to listen to IV and V cause I hate to say I own very little of these soundtracks. I have arranged versions of key tracks like "Theme of Love" and Home Sweet Home" but sometimes I just want to listen to the game versions.

Since the GBA SP has no headphone jack and I own the soundtracks, I can't say I have. I'd probably use the feature if it were the only way I could hear the tracks though.
