Death Note Movie in North American Theaters

So I went to see Leatherheads with my grandparents on Saturday. I decided to listen to music until the actual movie started, but when the previews came on I decided to take them off because some movies are kinda neat. So after I get them back in my purse, I look up and see DEATHNOTE on the screen and went like

OOMMG WHAAAT? WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT? WHAT? IS IT COMING HERE? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?

(There was a freshman that sits by me in Art a couple of rows down that was like, WTF she talks?)

...but I had my headphones in until the last moment, so I didn't know until I looked it up just now.

I've seen it already. It's not very good at all. I have to admire the xenophobia in changing all of the non-Japanese characters into Japanese ones, though.

Im not too interested in the movie after having already seen all the anime and half the manga but if i did see it I'd bring chips and eat them dramatically!

Damn, a bit too far a drive. It'd be fun to go see in theaters.

Oh also the movies are quite a bit different from the manga and anime. Some may even like the movie end better since it doesn't have a chance to spiral downward into mediocrity. I'm not too fond of the first movie though, Light's not enough of a bastard.

It's playing in the theatre about 5 minutes from where I live. I might go see it, though I've already seen it before. It's the second one I haven't seen, and that's not showing. =(

The movie is ok, and I agree on Light not being right. I don't really like the guy that plays him at all, and his character seems a little off. But it could be worse.

I love the manga and I like the anime, but the movie is more stupid than anything. :P

I was referring to the main series itself, which is not nearly as interesting (SPOILER)once L dies.

The second movie isn't bad. First movie is pretty ugh though. So really, the movies get better the further you go.
