The internet's end? I'm kinda tired and a tiny bit buzzed at the moment, but the only reason I can see the internet ceasing to be is because it becomes so big and so integrated to numerous aspects of life that it's not a single thing, but little by little becomes everything.
Or something. It is damn big though, I'll give it that.

It's one huge bitch.
Teh interwebz will live on, though in simply more integrated forms.
I can't wait to download toast into my microwave.
My normal integer is 12.
I regularly find myself bored on the internet, so I'm going to say it's not big enough.![]()

Actually, it's very very big, it's just full of crap. Looking for something/somewhere decent on the internet is like trying to find chocolate in a sea of poo.
I don't think it's ever likely to die.. as Akaria says it's more likely to become so pervasive that we no longer think of it as an entity as in "the internet" and more as a form of communication and information-sharing.
If ever it did die it'd probably be as a result of the collapse of modern human civilisation i.e. a large scale nuclear/biological war or disaster.
The internet is kind of like a massive bucket. People throw their crap into the bucket, and tend to connect their crap to loads of other crap using a bunch of strings. So you have a bucket full of crap connected to other crap. Occasionally someone will throw something into the bucket that's really good, though often they'll still connect it to crap. You still have to follow the trails of crap to get to the good stuff. Once you know where the good stuff is you can just go straight to it, but you've still got to work around the crap it's attached to. You also have to deal with others who are riffling around in the bucket.
So yeah, internet; giant bucket.
There is no signature here. Move along.
The net is big, but depending on your 'surfing' skills, you may or may never find what you are looking for. As for it dying, I don't think so. Maybe we should start considering the possibility of 'it' taking over (internet = skynet = judgement day)
Meh. 'sokay I guess.
People used to say the solar system was big. People used to say the galaxy was big. People used to say the Universe was big.
They aint seen nothin' yet.
"They said this day would never come. They said our sights were set too high. They said this country was too divided, too disillusioned to ever come around a common purpose. But on this January night, at this defining moment in history, you have done what the cynics said we couldn't do." - Barack Obama.
